We start on the first leg of our USA tour July 2010 - this time featuring California, Arizona, Nevada and Utah.
And so early on Monday 5th we leave for Amsterdam - wave goodbye to Laura - who has already had 2 weeks in Florida in case you feel sorry for her - and set off on a 21 day excursion into the sunshine.
After the long 11 hour flight from Amsterdam to Los Angeles we collected our luggage, picked up our Chevy Tahoe SUV and headed back east to Palm Springs to relax and enjoy the beautiful weather.
We have been to the Palm Springs Desert Springs Villas before, but the location is so perfect, the apartments so large and the weather is always perfect, that we made this the first stop on our 2010 tour.
The apartments have 2 bedrooms and a kitchen so after a quick visit to "Ralph's Grocery Store" we were set up for our short visit.
On the first night despite jet lag and a long journey, it was great to have an outdoor barbecue on the balcony.
With chef duties split between Carolyn and Norman.
