Day 3 - Leaving for Scottsdale Arizona

Today we leave for Arizona and another apartment managed by Marriott called Canyon Villas just outside Scottsdale.

We left around noon not realising that there had we stayed for a few hours longer we would have been within 20 miles of the epicentre of one of California's strongest earthquakes for quite a while!

It seems that the epicentre was in a place called Borrego Springs which we passed quite close to on our way to Scottsdale - however reports of our demise down the San Andreas fault are grossly exaggerated!

If you are interested - here are some of the news reports - if you click on any links or photos here they will enlarge in your browser for easier reading.

So it looks as though we left just in time - although in 2 1/2 weeks time we have to re-enter the "circle of fire" as we end our journey in Santa Monica..... but there's so much to come before that adventure..
