Venice is famous for it's "Carnival of Venice" and traditionally masks that are worn at this huge event which occurs around Easter.
Countless vendors sell these masks all year round - and depending how much you want to pay, there is someone willing to sell to you.
The tradition goes back centuries and in times past the mask makers enjoyed a very high status in Venetian culture with their own laws and guild.
Today however there are very few mask makers left in Venice and many of the masks found in the city are imported from China.
Time for us to have another coffee break.
The Italian coffee is just superb and copious amounts were brought back for future enjoyment in the cooler climes of Scotland.
Carolyn here showing off one of her purchases - a Murano glass necklace.
Later in the day we took a Vaporetto for the entire length of the Grand Canal from the railway station to St. Marks Square.
The sun was just about setting again and resulted in some lovely pictures from St. Marks over the lagoon as you can see below.
